We Are Still Accepting Applications for the Third Round of the Art Lives initiative
In the first two rounds of evaluations, the jury panel for Art Lives: Emergency Initiative to Support Arab Arts Practitioners has selected thirty-seven artists and cultural practitioners living in seven Arab countries (Jordan, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Palestine, Iraq and Sudan), whose work and lives have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. They will receive emergency financial support to cover living and healthcare expenses. This initiative is the result of cooperation between Ettijahat, Action For Hope and Mophradat. Applications to the initiative will continue to be accepted throughout the coming months.
The purpose of this initiative is to empower Arab artists and technicians, including people from the LGBTQIA+ community, single parents and artists with dependants, to overcome the urgent economic challenges caused by the COVID-19 crisis. It also offers support to cover healthcare expenses for the most vulnerable artists in order that they can continue their work and other activities.
