“NowT…here” Play

An artistic partnership project between Ettijahat- Independent Culture and the German institution KulturimTurm, within the framework "Tandem/Shaml"

The partnership worked on developing artistic creative material about every day stories of Syrians that are burdened by survival, exodus, migration, and persistence choices. Syrians face these choices every day, and the most difficult part is to take a decision. The project was based on true stories of people who decided to stay or leave, and included documentary and film materials and photos from everyday life.

After eight months of research, the project was produced as a theatre play under the artistic supervision of the director Mudar Al-Haggi, and performed in Berlin in both Arabic and English. The play also toured three cities in Germany during November 2013.
