Temporary Stay – A Theatrical Play by Wael Ali and Christel Kheder Premieres in France this October

May 2017

On October 20, 2017, the theatrical play Temporary Stay will premiere at the Sens Interdits Festival, Lyon, France.

Temporary Stay by Chrystèle Khodr and Waël Ali questions the migration history in the Middle East by interrogating the traces left by the survivors of the series of exiles. It takes as its starting point an audio tape recorded in Stockholm in 1976 by a family who has fled the Lebanese civil war. The piece creates a space of crossed views that allows to deal with the question of migration as a common history.

Following its premiere in Lyon, the play will commence its first tour in France at Théâtre de la Vignette, Montpellier (November 14-15); next at the Les Rencontres à l'échelle Festival, Marseille (November 24-25); and finally, at Théâtre Jean Vilar, Paris (April 4, 2018).
